Looks like a PIR Alarm Sensor, but is actually a high resolution camera, ideal for hidden covert surveillance or where a camera would simply look out of place or ugly! This camera also has one extra very special feature, hidden IR LEDs for 10m IR night vision in complet darkness!

Introduction:

Ideal for medium to high risk applications, the camera is built around a Sony 1/3" Super HAD High Resolution CCD image sensor which provides good recognition quality and standard identification quality images.The camera has a built in microphone for audio surveillance of the area being watched.

The camera features built in IR (Infra Red) LEDs, these allow the camera to see in low light or complete darkness up to 10 metres. The camera shows Colour images in good lighting conditions and then switches to B/W images in low light or complete darkness, when in this mode the camera can see the light produced by the IR LEDs and provide good quality images as if it was daylight, however to the human eye the light emitted from the IR LEDs remains invisible!

Resolution:

The camera is able to produce 540 TVL images. These are equivalent to Near DVD quality and suitable for recording at 704x576 (4CIF) or 720x576 (D1) resolutions.

Light Sensitivity:

The camera will provide bright images in complete darkness up to a distance of 10 Metres from the camera, beyond this distance the camera will provide bright images in any environment that has a light level above 0.1 lux.

Examples of environments that have a light level above 0.1 lux are:

Dawn and Dusk
A Residential Road with Street Lighting
A Bar or Nightclub

Lens:

The camera is fitted with a 3.7mm lens. This lens provides a fixed horizontal viewing angle of 78°.

DSP Features:

The camera features an Xvision IXC1DN DSP (Digital Signal Processing) chip which offers the following functions to increase the image sensors performance:

Automatic Electronic Iris - This feature automatically adjusts the brightness of the camera image to match the amount of available light.

Automatic White Balance - This feature automatically adjusts the colour temperature of the camera image to match the type of light available, so that white and other colours appear as natural as possible.

Automatic Gain Control - This feature automatically increases the video output level of the camera in low light conditions. This has the effect of making the picture brighter.

Day/Night -This feature works in conjunction with a special filter on the image sensor, the filter on the image sensor allows the camera to see light emitted from IR LEDs as white light, allowing the camera to see in low light and complete darkness without actually visibly (to human eyes) lighting up the area. The Day/Night function then converts this image to B/W so it can be seen clearly and also balances out the picture so that the picture is not too bright.

Low Smear - This feature helps to balance out the camera image when some areas of it may be looking at very bright or reflective objects.

Edge Enhancement - This feature sharpens the edges of objects and people in the camera image making the picture sharper and the resolution higher.
